I thought I'd start be putting up images of my work from last semester.
My jewellery work is mainly inspired by the texture, lightness and manipulative qualities of tarlatan (a starchy muslin fabric), but also by rough, sketchy line drawings. The majority of my work is made up of fused sheets of hand shaped/sketched silver wire, shaped into small open vessels. The pieces are all about a lightness and unconstrained freeness.

My silversmithing work is really just as an exploration of the raising process and the intimate relationship between maker and object. For me the process was a strangely personal one, with me constantly being in contact with the objects, getting to know them as familiar friends, whilst helping them along the way as they grow and change shape.
The series of vessels began as quite a definite form, becoming smaller, more distorted and cracked as we progressed.
